Getting Started
1. Set Up Your WhatsApp Business Account
Before you can send messages, you need to:
- Create a WhatsApp Business Account through LeadNest dashboard
- Verify your business with Meta
- Register your phone number
- Create and submit message templates for approval
2. Configure WhatsApp in LeadNest
Navigate to Settings → Channels → WhatsApp in your LeadNest dashboard and follow the setup wizard.

Template Messages
WhatsApp requires pre-approved templates for outbound messages. Templates can include:
- Text with variables
- Images, videos, or documents
- Call-to-action buttons
- Quick reply buttons

Response
WhatsApp has strict policies about message content and frequency. Violating these policies can result in your number being banned. Always follow Meta's Commerce and Business Policies.
Message Templates
All marketing and promotional messages must use pre-approved templates. To create a template:
- Go to WhatsApp → Templates in your dashboard
- Click "Create Template"
- Design your message with variables and media
- Submit for Meta approval (usually takes 24-48 hours)
Conversation-Based Pricing
WhatsApp uses conversation-based pricing. A conversation is a 24-hour window that starts when:
- You send a template message to a user
- A user sends you a message
Within this 24-hour window, you can send unlimited messages without additional charges.

- Get opt-in: Always obtain explicit consent before messaging users
- Personalize: Use variables to make messages relevant
- Timing: Send messages during business hours in the recipient's timezone
- Response time: Reply to customer messages within 24 hours
