Settings - Platform Configuration & Security
The Settings module is the control center for your LeadNest account. It manages global preferences, integrations, API security, and team access levels.
Overview
Proper configuration is the foundation of a successful LeadNest deployment. From connecting your messaging providers to managing secure API access, the Settings module gives you full control over how the platform behaves across all other modules.
Settings are organized into logical sections: Integrations, API Management, Roles & Permissions, and Global Account Preferences.
Quickstart Guide
1 Access Settings
In the main sidebar, select Settings to open the configuration dashboard.
2 Configure Integrations
- Navigate to the Integrations tab.
- Add your third-party provider credentials (e.g., Twilio for SMS, SendGrid for Email, or your external CRM).
- Test each connection to ensure seamless data flow.
3 Manage API Keys
- Open the API Keys tab.
- Create a new key and assign appropriate permissions based on the intended use.
- Securely store your key—it will only be shown once.
4 Set User Roles
- Go to the Roles & Permissions section.
- Define access levels for your team members on a per-module basis.
Best Practices
- Key Rotation: Rotate your API keys regularly to maintain high security standards.
- Least Privilege: Use the "Least-Privilege" principle when assigning user roles to minimize risk.
- Credential Management: Keep your integration credentials (API secrets, tokens) updated and never share them in plain text.
